This episode examines the 1988 disappearance and death of 12-year-old Sara Kay Keesling, in Riverside, California, the failure to properly investigate her death at the time, and the decades-long fight by family and community to get answers.
The hosts recount the discovery of Sara’s body, the initial "undetermined" ruling, the 2023 cold-case reclassification as a homicide, and the main theories — including possible abuse by her father or involvement of a stranger — while criticizing systemic bias that labeled her a runaway.
The episode closes with a plea for information and a reminder that Sarah’s story matters: justice, clarity, and accountability remain the goal.

He Was Already Inside: The Murder of Brittany Phillips
Friday Apr 03, 2026
Friday Apr 03, 2026
On this episode of Lesbian Detective…
She came home to be closer to the people she loved.
At just 18 years old, Brittany Phillips was starting over—back in Tulsa, back near her family, and focused on building a future in the medical field. Everything about her life seemed normal. Safe. Familiar.
Until one night, it wasn’t.
After a routine evening—dropping off a friend and speaking with her mother—Brittany returned to her apartment. There were no signs of forced entry. No clear indication that anything was wrong.
But something was.
Days later, Brittany was found inside her home, brutally murdered.
Investigators uncovered signs of a violent struggle, DNA from an unknown man, and a chilling possibility: the killer may have already been inside her apartment before she ever walked through the door.
Despite thousands of DNA tests, a behavioral profile, and years of investigation, the person responsible has never been identified.

Valentine Sally: The Girl the Desert Kept
Friday Feb 13, 2026
Friday Feb 13, 2026
On Valentine’s Day 1982 a teenage body was found along I‑40 in northern Arizona and given the placeholder name “Valentine Sally.” Witnesses recall her last being seen at a nearby truck stop with an older man in a black cowboy hat with a peacock feather; a half‑dissolved aspirin stuck in a tooth became one of the few lasting clues.
Decades later genetic genealogy uncovered her real identity as 17‑year‑old Carolyn Eaton, giving her family answers—but the person who killed her has never been identified. This episode follows her final days, the wrongful misidentification, and the unresolved search for justice.
